Negs Empire is an agritech-driven beekeeping and honey packaging enterprise based in Imo State, Nigeria. Their brand, NEGS HONEY, offers affordable, traceable, and NAFDAC-certified honey packaged in sachets (starting at ₦100 for 25 ml) and various bottle sizes. Beyond producing pure honey, they construct and install beehives, train local youth and women in beekeeping and hive building, and sustain production with over 500 strategically located hives—creating both income and environmental stewardship. They serve over 1,000 loyal customers and have begun exporting to the U.S.—an impressive footprint built around community, quality, and sustainability.

I’m honored to have mentored the founder, Nwakuba Ezinne, helping to refine her social impact strategy, strengthen her brand messaging, and scale operations for broader agricultural transformation.

Challenge & Solution

At the outset, Negs Empire navigated real challenges: the honey market in Nigeria was fraught with adulteration, making consumer trust hard to earn. Many rural producers were excluded from value chains, and smallholders remained disconnected from markets. Together, we forged a solution that fused ethical sourcing, quality assurance, and community empowerment. We repositioned NEGS HONEY with a narrative centered on purity, traceability, and affordability—rooted in their real impact of over 500 hives and inclusive practices. We amplified their training programs, making rural women and youth vital partners—not just employees—in the honey value chain. With refined messaging and evidence-backed branding, we supported their push into exports and award circuits (like the National MSME Award and support from Tony Elumelu Foundation), helping them emerge as a trusted name in clean, community-rooted agritech.
