As a pioneer in Nigeria’s wearable tech landscape, Nextwear Technologies empowers individuals to "Wear Your Own Tech" by embedding programmable electronics and sensors into garments. Their visionary products, ranging from smart heart-rate and blood-pressure monitors to glucometers and thermometers seamlessly combine healthcare, communication, and fashion to bring tech close to the body.
I’ve had the privilege of mentoring Nextwear Technologies, guiding their leadership team through strategic planning, product-market fit, and scaling operations. My aim has been to help them sharpen their unique value proposition while accelerating their next phase of growth.
Challenge & Solution
When I first began working with Nextwear, the company had already built exciting innovations like the N-Alerte Wrist BP Monitor, Arm Blood Pressure Monitor, and Smart Glucometer. However, they faced several hurdles: market awareness was low, their brand positioning was unclear, and their distribution strategy needed refinement to reach both medical institutions and everyday consumers.
Through my mentorship, we worked together to reshape their story around “Wear Your Own Tech” presenting their devices not just as clinical tools but as stylish, practical, and life-enhancing wearables. I also supported them in mapping targeted distribution channels, from clinics and wellness centers to fitness and corporate programs, while categorizing their products into clear use-cases with pricing that matched customer segments.
