Their Waste Market platform uniquely enables individuals and businesses to monetize biowaste, and they offer a range of biofertilizer sizes tailored to different farming needs.
I’m honored to have mentored Scratop’s team, working closely with Founder and CEO Ruth Ede to strengthen their brand positioning, scale community impact, and refine their go-to-market strategy.
Challenge & Solution
When Scratop and I began working together, they had a compelling mission and a promising product but faced key hurdles: farmers were still gravitating towards chemical fertilisers, the concept of selling biowaste was unfamiliar to many rural suppliers, and their narrative and outreach strategy lacked cohesion.
Together, we reimagined their story: Scratop became not just a biofertilizer producer but a movement championing regenerative agriculture, food safety, and waste-to-value empowerment. We streamlined messaging around the dual benefits of income generation through waste monetization and soil restoration. To drive adoption, we devised localized outreach strategies engaging cooperatives, community leaders, and eco-conscious youth—highlighting Scratop’s multi-layered value proposition of environmental sustainability, economic upliftment, and safer crops. We also sharpened their narrative around high-impact achievements, including Ruth’s accolades such as the Africa Green Female Award (2021), Global Food Safety Challenge recognition (2022), Goshen Impact Fund victory (2023), and AYuTe Africa Challenge award (2024)
